Where it fits in your routine
This one works on contact — there is nothing to wait for.
What that covers, and what it does not
Measured on: Stratum corneum hydration (corneometer) from the humectant peptide film.
Hydrolysis leaves short water-soluble peptides that bind water at the surface, so hydration readings rise while the film is present, on the same physics as any humectant and within the hour. That is the only outcome the physics supports and it matches the base's own note that the benefit is surface hydration and skin feel. The firming and wrinkle-depth evidence the ingredient leans on comes largely from oral collagen supplementation over 8 to 12 weeks, which says nothing about a topical product, and no topical trial I could identify reports the visit at which hydration or firmness first changed.
Mechanism for the humectant film; the elasticity and wrinkle-depth literature commonly cited for collagen is oral supplementation rather than topical, and no topical trial with dated visits was identified.
