What it actually is

The Glow take
Genuinely worth a spot in your routine.
When your goal is deep, lasting hydration, Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid pulls genuine weight, with a solid amount of evidence behind it. Gentle enough that most skin types can reach for it.

Where it fits in your routine
This one works on contact — there is nothing to wait for.
What that covers, and what it does not
Measured on: surface hydration (corneometry) while the humectant film is in place.
Hyaluronan fragments bind water at the surface the moment the film is laid down - that binding is the whole mechanism and nothing is being remodelled underneath, so there is no later endpoint for this outcome. The base's hydration 8 rests on surface-hydration evidence for hyaluronan generally rather than a dated time course for the hydrolysed grade specifically. The second, bigger claim - that the shorter fragments reach living skin and do something more - is, in the base's own words, marketed rather than measured, so no bucket is available for it and the multi-week HA trials that report elasticity or wrinkle scores test whole formulas.
Surface-hydration literature on topical hyaluronan described in the base row; no isolated trial of the hydrolysed fraction identified.
