Genuinely worth a spot in your routine.
When your goal is softening fine lines and keeping skin firm, Adenosine pulls genuine weight, with a solid amount of evidence behind it. Gentle enough that most skin types can reach for it.

What it does
- anti aging
- firming
- wrinkle smoothing
moderate evidenceRandomized trials of adenosine-containing creams report statistically significant but moderate reductions in wrinkle parameters and improved elasticity compared with placebo though some studies show the carrier dominating the effect.
On a label: usually effective at 0.04-0.1%.

Give it two to four weeks — that is when the change first became measurable.
What was measured, and in whom
Measured on: Periorbital skin roughness / smoothness by FOITS optical profilometry of silicone replicas.
A blind, randomised, placebo-controlled study in 126 women aged 45-65 applied adenosine-containing products to the periorbital area twice daily for two months, with FOITS profilometry at 0, 3 and 8 weeks; smoothness improved significantly by the 3-week visit and was maintained at 8 weeks. Week 3 is a genuine interim visit against a placebo arm rather than the endpoint, so this is a real first-significant reading and not a ceiling. Two caveats sit against it. The work is industry cosmetic science, and this row's own notes concede that in some adenosine studies the carrier dominates the effect. And the concentration does not clearly match consumer reality: the companion formulation paper puts the dissolvable-film arm at 1% adenosine, ten to twenty-five times the 0.04-0.1% this base gives as the use range, while the cream arm's adenosine level is not stated in the published account.

Adenosine, answered
Is Adenosine safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Adenosine is considered safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. As with anything, if you are unsure it is worth a quick word with your doctor or midwife.
Who should avoid Adenosine?
No specific group is flagged to avoid Adenosine. It is well tolerated by most skin. Still, introduce anything new one product at a time.
What concentration of Adenosine actually works?
Adenosine tends to do its job in the 0.04 to 0.1% range. Much lower and it is likely underdosed.
